Mantra used to connect with our higher self, the inner Self. Om means God in Sanskrit.
We use it in our Rama meditation practices and Rama Mission outings.

"Om is the universal mantra and the primordial sound.
According to Hinduism and Buddhism, it is a sacred syllable that represents the deity and union with the divine. This sound was the sound of the creation of the Universe and contains all the energies that enabled it to form. When we consider the latest scientific discoveries, the benefits of this primary mantra become understandable: matter is energy and vibrates at certain frequencies. This includes our human bodies, as well as everything that exists in our environment."
"As a syllable, it is often chanted either independently or before a spiritual recitation and during meditation in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism."
